PlayStation Plus Free Games For May 2023: Predictions, Rumors, Leaks, Release Date And More appeared on www.forbes.com by Erik Kain.

Well, it’s that time again. April is already more than halfway over, and May is ready to bloom onto the scene, and with it a new batch of free PlayStation Plus games.

These days, PS Plus is divided into three tiers, with the PS Plus Essential games free to all subscribers at the beginning of each month, followed by a mid-month drop of all the PS Plus Extra and Premium titles. This month’s Extra lineup was really good, too, with some stellar titles like Kena: Bridge Of Spirits free to download.

So what’s coming in May’s lineup of PS Plus Essential games? Have any leaked? Are there any rumors? Read on to find out . . . .

When Will Sony Reveal Next Month’s PS Plus Games?

The basic rule of thumb for Sony’s PS Plus lineup reveal is that the announcement typically comes on the last Wednesday of the month. However, the only real constant here is that Sony will release the new games on the first Tuesday of the month and usually announces them the previous Wednesday.

The first Tuesday of May is on May 2nd, which means we’ll get an official reveal for May’s PS Plus lineup on Wednesday, April 26th—unless, of course, Sony pulls a fast one and reveals them early.

PS Plus March Leaks, Rumors And Predictions

Currently there are no leaks or rumors about PS Plus’s May lineup. We actually know more about what’s leaving than what’s coming next month, as it’s the last month you can claim the free PS Plus Collection games before they’re gone forever. There are some pretty great games in that batch, so don’t miss out!

As always, if anything for next month leaks I’ll update this post.

For now, we can make some predictions and games for the wish list. My list currently includes:

  • FIFA 23
  • The Order 1886
  • Cult Of The Lamb
  • Sifu
  • Nier: Automata
  • Insurgency Sandstorm
  • Elden Ring
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Last May’s PS Plus games were decent, if nothing special:

  • FIFA 22 (PS4 / PS5)
  • Tribes Of Midgard (PS4 / PS5)
  • Curse Of The Dead Gods (PS4)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see another FIFA freebie this coming month.

One game we won’t see on PS Plus despite it launching on May 2nd? Redfall. The co-operative vampire-slaying game from Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Deathloop) and Bethesda is an Xbox Series X|S console exclusive and is coming to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Games Pass for PC on day-one.

In December, one of my predictions was Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order which ended up being correct—which is, I admit, quite rare. In any case, maybe one of these will be correct also. What are your predictions? Let me know on Twitter or Facebook.

As always, I’d love it if you’d follow me here on this blog and subscribe to my YouTube channel and my Substack so you can stay up-to-date on all my TV, movie and video game reviews and coverage. Thanks!
