Believe it or not, NFT avatars are fast becoming public figures these days. Take the recent report of a Bored Ape NFT that has begun taking bookings for custom videos on Cameo.
Now, another frontier is being conquered by these apes as the first NFT DJ, 11Ape, has made the news recently for his activities.
This NFT is Meta-Primate #11 of the Bored Ape Yacht Club and is signed to the E11even Music record label. The label is under the 11USA Group umbrella which is well-known for the E11even club in Miami.
Now, the company has entered the metaverse and the Bored Ape is the official DJ for their digital club. The ape has also collaborated with other artists, with the digital rendering even appearing in music videos as a real-life artist would.
As Gino LoPinto, operating partner of E11even explains, the branding of the ape is in line with the company’s theme and ethos.
“We weren’t sure, but we knew we wanted to start with an NFT. Our hats have become pretty successful, so we said let’s base our NFT around our hats. We thought, let’s buy Bored Ape Yacht Club, and it made sense to buy number eleven,” he says.
Inspired by the careers of digital and anonymous electronic artists, E11even has released songs, will play more gigs, and will continue to push the boundaries of what makes a DJ.
