The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves to secure their spot in this year’s playoffs after a horrendous start to the season. And with only a few hours left, the Lakers will be facing off against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs. While there are many fans who are ready to see LeBron James and Ja Morant lock horns, one NBA legend already has cleared his schedule to binge the initial games of the two teams.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers really have fought major odds and surpassed tough hurdles to make it to where they are right now. A team that was written off from the playoffs on multiple occasions is now going to be competing in the first round.

Magic Johnson is prepped and ready for the playoffs

The story of how the Lakers proved everyone wrong to make it to the playoffs is compelling enough. So, it is natural that the Lakers fans will be watching this game with attention and eagerness.

One NBA legend who is ecstatic to see the Lakers compete is NBA legend, Magic Johnson. Johnson had earlier sent out a series of tweets when the team managed to win against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament.

However, he got trolled for trying to give his own insights to the team. But can he be blamed for helping out his beloved Lakers in any way he can? Nevertheless, Johnson’s excitement comes along with many others who share the same energy.

In a recent social media update, Johnson tweeted, “I cannot wait until the first round of the Playoffs begin tomorrow. I got my barbecue and popcorn ready!! I’ll be watching all day Saturday and all day Sunday!”

The Lakers will be on the road playing the Memphis Grizzlies for their first two games of the seven-game series.

Renowned American businessman Jeremy Padawer too commented, “BBQ and popcorn… this dude needs a TV show like Eli and Peyton Manning. I’d watch his commentary.” 

Padawer drew comparisons between Johnson’s tweet to the Manningcast, where the two brothers, Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, former NFL quarterbacks give their own interesting takes on everything that is happening in the NFL.
