The list includes WTA legends Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams as they both have a ridiculous winning percentage on the same surface. Even the ATP star, Rafael Nadal falls into the same category of players as the Spaniard is hailed as the ‘King of Clay’ given his triumphs at the French Open.
However, there is another resounding figure on the tennis circuit who holds a rare feat on the clay surface that distinguishes her from the likes of Williams, Sharapova, and Nadal. It is none other than the American tennis legend, Chris Evert who pulled off a challenging feat during her heydays.

The tennis community is already aware of Rafael Nadal’s remarkable triumphs at the Rolland Garros as he is further hailed as the ‘King of Clay’. With 14 French Open titles in his bag, the 36-year-old tennis legend currently has a 92-win percentage record on the clay surface. The Spaniard, with an incredible display of his prowess, holds a 164-14 winning record on the surface.
Even some of the WTA legends like Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams have a win percentage record of more than 80% while they also hold a number of major titles on the clay surface. Nevertheless, Chris Evert has managed to outperform other renowned individuals despite their ridiculous numbers.
The former American tennis player holds a unique feat on the clay court that has recently been brought to light by the official Instagram page of the Tennis Hall of Fame. They recently hailed Evert as the ‘Queen of Clay,’ while sharing some of her remarkable achievements on the clay courts. During her illustrious journey, the former tennis ace had a winning streak of 125 on the same surface from 1973-1979.

Further, Evert has a 94.55% win percentage record on the clay courts as she has won 197 out of 198 matches on clay courts. Even at the Roland Garros, the American tennis legend had a 92.3% win percentage while she clinched 7 major titles at the tournament. In the process, the 18 singles Grand Slam champion now holds the record for most French Open titles on the women’s circuit.
