The Louisiana Elvis Festival kicked off Thursday and runs through Saturday at the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center, 1202 3rd St., in downtown Alexandria.
Five shows featuring various Elvis tribute artists will be held during the three-day festival. Tickets start at $25.
“Elvis 68 Comeback” is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, “Elvis Aloha from Hawaii” will be at 2 p.m. and “Elvis The King” at 7:30 p.m.
?Headliners for the show include Dean Z, Bill Cherry, David Lee, Ben Thompson, Cote Deonath, Alex Mitchell, Michael Cullipher, Michael Chambliss, Robert Wahington and Jeff Lewis. The event will be hosted by Tom Brown.
Known as the King of Rock n’ Roll, Elvis Presley performed in Alexandria in March 1977 at the Rapides Parish Coliseum.
