Like the many perks of being an NBA star, going on dates and finding suitable matches also probably comes easy. However, it is needless to say, if you happen to be one of the greatest players of all time, the chances of landing a date skyrocket. Likewise, Shaquille O’Neal, who had it all; legacy, wealth, fame, and more, had his fair share of romantic partners over his eventful life and career. Though upholding long-term relationships wasn’t his forte, getting into one was certainly in his ballpark.
The Los Angeles Lakers legend recently harped on certain processes that most men follow before a date. Moreover, the Hall of Famer, who once splurged over a million dollars because of Mike Tyson, unveiled the major ‘don’ts’ of going on a first date.

In a recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast’, Josiah Johnson and Lindsay Barnette joined O’Neal and co-host, Nischelle Turner. During the hour-long episode, the four covered various topics ranging from the tumultuous trade deadline to the Grammys. In one of the segments, Turner, backed by her curiosity, asked O’Neal and Johnson an interesting question about men on first dates.
She asked, “On first dates, do men also like to go through outfits and have like outfit changes and wanna like look cute?” However, Turner’s playful curiosity was immediately shut down by the 4x NBA champion’s bold “NO“. After candidly expressing his opinions, the 15x All-Star harped on what to do before going on a first date.
He said, “Take a shower, three coats, have your little outfit out. Don’t go too flashy, don’t bring the flashy car, cause she will think you are trying to impress her. Bring the range or something right.” Subsequently, he also revealed what type of cars to not take on a first date. “I’m talking about the Rolls, Convertible Rolls, you know the Benz,” Shaquille O’Nealsaid.
