Is Tiger Woods Playing in the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational? appeared on www.essentiallysports.com by EssentiallySports.

The return of golf’s most celebrated hero was met with much intrigue and fanfare two weeks ago. And he didn’t disappoint. Tiger Woods chipped and shot all the way till Sunday to enthrall the crowd, finishing a decent T45 on his comeback. But having watched Woods in full flow, there is eager anticipation for his next appearance. So, with the Arnold Palmer Invitational up next, will we see Woods play at the iconic tournament?

Tiger Woods at the Arnold Palmer Invitational?

For starters, the legendary golfer repeated his claim of being careful with his fitness after the end of the Genesis Open. “Here’s the deal: Like I told you guys last year, I’m not going to play any more than probably the majors and maybe a couple more. That’s it, that’s all my body will allow me to do,” Woods said.

Yet, fans can expect more than a couple of tournaments from Woods to gain match practice ahead of the majors. But will he tee up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, starting tomorrow? It’s unlikely so, considering the 47-year-old would like to loosen things up to avoid putting added pressure on his leg.

Woods pulled through a tiresome effort on his comeback to the PGA Tour. He played 16 holes in the pre-event pro-am, before playing out all four days of the tournament. He walked 72 holes at the Genesis Open, with a slight limp noticeable at the end of each day.

What will Woods’ next tournament be?

Skipping the Arnold Palmer Invitational will be an emotional blow for Woods considering his affinity for the event. The 15-time major championship winner is an eight-time champion at the Bay Hill Golf Course, with his first victory coming back in 2000.

But considering he won’t take the field this weekend, where do we expect Woods to be next? If at all the legendary golfer touches down in Florida, it will most likely be at the Players Championship. It remains one of the Tour’s flagship events, but the host also plays a huge role, with TPC Sawgrass remaining one of the country’s flattest courses.
