Justin Beiber has CANCELLED his world tour in light of mental health concerns. Now, it seems that when an artist is struggling with their mental health, it is customary to “pump the brakes” on their career rather than push forward and let it spiral out of control.

This tour has been fraught with problems from the beginning, it was supposed to start in 2020, but the world shut down due to the pandemic and changed those plans phenomenally, then, just when everyone thought it was safe to come out, the tour started and almost immediately halted because Bieber himself came down with COVID.

Music industry professionals, including some of the industry’s top lawyers, are now saying that young artists are really not protected from overwork and that this issue can aggravate any and all underlying mental or physical conditions that a young artist may have.

Combine that with the pressure to perform and be perfect every night and you’ve got a recipe for disaster waiting to happen, eventually. It may not happen today, it may not happen tomorrow, but down the line there’s probably going to be a trip to rehab for the artist in the future.

It seems that this is why professionals are advocating that artists take breaks, simply because a life of constantly performing, constantly being “on” and constantly having to put up that performer facade is not healthy all the time. At an earlier time in which Justin had suspended one of his tours, he said this, “After getting off the stage, the exhaustion overtook me and I realize that I need to make my health the priority right now.” Apparently it is not the first time he has cancelled a tour due to his physical and mental health being at stake.

This is just speculation, but one does wonder if his wife, Haley Bieber feud with his ex, Selena Gomez, had anything to do with his decision to cancel the tour and stay home. He may be doing this to keep the misses happy, after all, she can’t wonder where he is on tour if he’s with her, right? And she can keep an eye on that pesky Selena if she stalks her socials enough, right? We’ll see. Stay tuned!!!
