Dolly Parton Will Wear Something ‘Gaudy And Flamboyant’ When She Hosts The ACM Awards With Garth Brooks In May appeared on www.forbes.com by Allyson Portee.
It was announced yesterday that Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks will co-host the ACM Awards on May 11th in Frisco, Texas at the Ford Center. The show will air live at 8pm ET on Prime Video. It will be Parton’s third time hosting the show and Brooks’ first time ever hosting an award’s show. But the “The Dance,” singer is known to be very loquacious with the audience at his shows, so he’ll do just fine.
When Parton was asked about what she’ll be wearing, she said “I don’t know, it’ll be something gaudy, flamboyant, and confident.” She also went on to say, “Garth said a funny thing earlier. When they asked what I was going to be wearing in three words, how would I describe it? I said, ‘Nothing but trash,’ and when they asked him about it, he said, ‘Nothing but Trish.’” So now we know Garth Brook’s stylist is his wife, Country Music singer Trisha Yearwood.
Parton has always been bold and confident with her fashion. From rhinestones to polka dots, fringes, mini skirts, sparkling jumpsuits, capri pants suits, and from fitting dresses, she shines bright through her sartorial story telling. So whatever she wears, and whatever Brooks wears they will shine bright and make an entertaining hosting duo.
“I am thrilled to return to host the ACM Awards, this time with my friend Garth,” said Parton in notes. “While I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with him throughout the years, I can’t believe we’ve never had the chance to work together. In addition to getting to see all this great new talent in country music, I am excited to have the chance to premiere the lead single from my upcoming rock album on the show!”
“Anyone with Dolly Parton makes a fantastic couple,” comments Brooks.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this legendary pair together for the first time ever as ‘Country Music’s Party of the Year’ heads to the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters, says Damon Whiteside, Academy of Country Music CEO and ACM Awards executive producer. “From exclusive superstar performances to unexpected collaborations to the industry’s most exciting emerging talent, fans are in for an unforgettable night that can only be seen on the ACM Awards stage!’
The ACM Awards are the longest-running Country music awards show, starting in 1966. “This year’s show marks its return to Texas since the landmark 50th ACM Awards, which broke a Guinness World Record in 2015 for being the most-attended awards show with more than 70,000 attendees at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX,” says notes from the Academy of Country Music. This year’s show will be produced by Dick Clark Productions, with Raj Kapoor, Barry Adelman, and Fonda Anita serving as executive producers.
Nominees will be announced in a few weeks, but recently, the Academy announced that their Topgolf fundraiser for ACM Lifting Lives will take place on May 10th in The Colony, Texas. After the fundraiser there will be a live concert that’s almost sold out with singers ERNEST, Bailey Zimmerman, Morgan Wallen & Friends HARDY, Lainey Wilson, and DJ 13lackbeard.
