In a turn of events, during the battle between NOIVAS and Uriel, Chance chose Uriel as the battle’s winner. But before NOIVAS could exit the stage, Shelton hit his steal button, bringing NOIVAS onto his team. 

“I didn’t steal him. I just brought him back home,” Shelton told Carson Daly on the show. “If Chance hadn’t used that stupid block earlier, this would’ve never happened.”

NOIVAS said he and Shelton hit it off from the start during the audition that the series premiere did not capture when airing the season premiere to the public.

“One of the most challenging obstacles I have endured was my brother’s death,” said NOIVAS. “During the audition, Shelton shared his story of loss when his brother died, and we had a moment of connection, and I’m thankful I’m now on team Shelton and still in the competition.”

NOIVAS, whose name is Savion spelled backward, changed his name after a series of setbacks while enduring his grief and loss after his brother’s death. Now, at age 31, he has found healing and “evolved” and is ready to share his voice with the world. 

NOIVAS grew up singing in the Methodist church in Jasper, where his father was a pastor. Now a father of two, NOIVAS, says he owes a lot to his wife and family, and without them, he probably would not have taken the opportunity to compete on “The Voice.”

“Honestly, I had some reservations since competing on American Idol back in the day,” he explained. “Someone on the show said I was washed up, and the harsh negative comments at that time broke my spirit a little bit.”

After competing on American Idol and facing loss, NOIVAS went on an eight-year hiatus and focused on school, work, his healing and family. 

“During my break from music, my grandmother would always tell me if I did not use my gift — I would lose it,” said NOIVAS. “I hear her voice, and it stays with me; I’m here to write music, sing and help people feel.”

Now after eight years, NOIVAS is back sharing his voice on stage with the world. 

“When I was discussing the competition on ‘The Voice,’ my wife said, ‘Why Not?’ And I was like yeah, why not? I have nothing to lose, and in all fairness, I’m so glad I did.” NOVIAS said. “It’s been a great experience, and I look forward to working with Shelton to see where this all goes.”
