Life is better when you share with friends, right? Country music is packed with singers, songs and songwriters. Sometimes when an artist writes a song, they know it’s a hit but also know it isn’t a hit for them. So what do they do? They pass it along to their artist friends. Or, maybe they wrote it with their artist friends. Either way, it makes for some really memorable hits. Here are 15 songs your favorite artists wrote and handed off to their fellow country singers. 

“She Had Me at Heads Carolina” by Cole Swindell

Written by Swindell, Thomas Rhett, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley, the multi-week No. 1 hit is an ode to Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.”

“Brown Eyes, Baby” by Keith Urban

Morgan Wallen wrote “Brown Eyes, Baby” with Josh Thompson, Rodney Clawson and Will Bundy. Wallen also had a pen in writing several songs for Jason Aldean, Ernest, Dylan Scott, Florida Georgia Line and more.  

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard wrote this song from Brown’s debut album with Cameron Montgomery and James McNair.

“Your Man” by Josh Turner

Chris Stapleton wrote “Your Man,” which became Josh Turner’s first number No. 1 hit.

“Chainsaw” by The Band Perry

Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey “Chainsaw” alongside Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The Band Perry released the banger in 2014 as their fourth single from the trio’s second album, “Pioneer.”

“Get Me Some Of That” by Thomas Rhett

Cole Swindell wrote “Get Me Some of That” with Thomas Rhett‘s dad, Rhett Akins, and Michael Carter. Thomas Rhett included the hit single on his debut album, “It Goes Like This.”

“Good Directions” by Billy Currington

Luke Bryan wrote this chart-topper with Rachel Thibodeau before he launched his artist career. Billy Currington included the song on his Doin’ Somethin’ Right album and released the song in 2006.

“Come Over” by Kenny Chesney

Sam Hunt, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne wrote this sexy Kenny Chesney hit that came out in the summer of 2012 and is from his album “Welcome To The Fishbowl.”

“Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert

Kacey Musgraves wrote this signature Miranda Lambert hit with Shane McAnally and Brandy Clark. Musgraves and Lambert are both Texas girls and had a longstanding relationship. Musgraves’ sister took photos at Lambert’s wedding to Blake Shelton, and Miranda asked Kacey at the rehearsal dinner if she could have it.

“Burnin’ It Down” by Jason Aldean

 Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard wrote “Burnin’ It Down” with Rodney Clawson and Chris Tompkins.

“Drink a Beer” by Luke Bryan

Chris Stapleton wrote “Drink a Beer” with hit songwriter Jim Beavers. Luke Bryan related to the song about losing someone because of his family’s tremendous loss. Bryan included the song on his “Crash My Party” album and released it in November 2013.

“You, Me and the River” by Chris Janson

Eric Church wrote “You, Me and the River” and contacted Janson to pitch it to him directly. Janson asked Church to sing it with him, and he included it on his “All In” album. The singers also collaborated on a music video for the dark mid-tempo.

“Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard wrote their breakthrough hit with their producer Joey Moi, fellow country signer Chase Rice and Jesse Rice. The song launched the duo’s career and gave Rice a leg up in the country music industry.

“Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” – Trace Adkins

Two of country music’s most traditional singers, Randy Houser and Jamey Johnson, teamed with Dallas Davidson to write this booty-shaking hit, which seems completely out of character for either one of them.

“More Than a Memory” – Garth Brooks

Lee Brice, Billy Montana and Kyle Jacobs co-wrote “More Than a Memory,” which Brooks released in 2007 and became the first song to debut at No. 1 in the history of the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The song was also Brooks’ first chart-topper hit since 1998’s “To Make You Feel My Love.”
