The Callisto Protocol’s “Final Transmission” DLC Weapon and Monster Concept Art Revealed appeared on mp1st.com by MP1st.

The Callisto Protocol’s “Final Transmission” DLC was announced last week, and new information on the expansion has been revealed, featuring the game’s new weapon, monsters, and more.

In a PlayStation Blog post, we get a glimpse at the Kinetic Hammer, a new melee weapon that provides both light and heavy melee attacks that you can dish out depending on the situation.

Paul Guirao, The Callisto Protocol’s lead systems designer, mentions that the Kinetic Hammer can be a bit “tricky” to wield due to how it works.

Holding down the heavy melee button produces an even more powerful attack. But mastery of the heavy charged mechanic can be tricky… you become the ultimate badass once you’ve mastered it. It’s one of our favorite weapons because it obliterates everything it touches.

One of the new monsters coming to The Callisto Protocol is the Biobot, a security robot that’s been taken over by the Biophage virus. Here’s some concept art:

Guirao wanted to explore the idea of what happens when the Biophage begins to affect machinery in Black Iron Prison.

With the final chapter, we really dug into the idea of what happens when the Biophage starts taking over machinery.

We worked closely with the Concept Art team to create a look that fits in TCP’s universe. It took several iterations to establish the look. We went in both extremes, too robotic and then too organic.

There are other new enemies in Final Transmission as well, such as the DLC’s last boss. Here’s what Guirao had to say about it:

Our goal was to showcase the Kinetic Hammer’s power and make players strategize on the best ways to beat the boss; deciding when to use melee or ranged attacks and utilizing the arena to their advantage. We’ve given the boss similar mechanics as Jacob, switching seamlessly between hard-hitting melee and aggressive ranged attacks. And to keep things interesting, we’ve given the final boss an ability that goes beyond anything Jacob can do.

The Callisto Protocol: Final Transmission will launch this June 27 on PS4 and PS5, with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions to follow on June 29.
