Activision has confirmed a ‘Carry Forward’ feature for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, enabling you to access previously purchased content from Modern Warfare 2 in the upcoming game. Most of it, anyway. Acti initially revealed the feature last month, but has now gone into a little more detail about what it actually means.
According to the announcement post on the Call of Duty Blog, “a vast amount” of content from the previous Modern Warfare will be available to transfer into MW3, covering weapons, cosmetic content (skins and such), Bundles, and Operators, as well as other rewards and unlocks from MW2 and Warzone.
However, Activision explains that “a small amount of content may be unavailable”, depending on the “gameplay offerings” in Modern Warfare 3. “For example, if MWIII doesn’t have the Tactical Amphibious Vehicle, or a specific piece of Tactical or Lethal Equipment in any game modes, any Skins you’ve unlocked for these items in MWII won’t be in MWIII,” the blog post notes.
Music from MW2 (Wartracks) also won’t carry forward and there is no ‘carry back’ feature for taking MW3 content into MW2. As ever, Modern Warfare 3 content will also be factored into Warzone, as has been the case with previous entries in the updated Modern Warfare series.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to launch on 10th November with the return of series villain Makarov, while a proper reveal is due in the coming days.
