MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 is officially here, and a few key next gen bugs have gotten a quick fix this time.

We’ve got the full MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 Patch Notes and details on what PS5 and Xbox Series X|S issues were addressed in Game Update 5.

MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 Patch Notes

MLB The Show 22 launched just over a month ago, and since then we’ve gotten two major updates with a flurry of bug fixes and slight tweaks.

The last one, MLB The Show 22 Update 1.04, quietly activated a new feature on next gen with support for 120hz gameplay on televisions and monitors that can use that quality.

Unfortunately, this just led to a flurry of new problems as multiple users started having issues connecting to matchmaking online following Game Update 4.

This brand new 120hz setting was quickly identified as the culprit, and now Sony San Diego has finally dropped a follow-up in MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 to remedy that problem.

MLB The Show 22 Game Update 5 is Version 1.005 on PS5 and Version 1.0.0.59 on Xbox Series X|S, and this is notably a next gen exclusive update with nothing deploying for PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.

However, that’s not surprising as the patch notes reveal only next gen specific issues have been addressed in this relatively small update.

MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 originally deployed on May 1, 2022 at approximately 4am PT, but users may not see the download begin until May 2 or later depending on the automatic download settings on their console.

Without further ado, here are the full MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 Patch Notes:

Stadium Creator

  • Fixed a bug that would cause custom stadiums to revert to a generic template after saving.

PlayStation 5

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent users from matchmaking online with 120hz Output enabled.

Sony San Diego kept things relatively simple here, and it’s good to see that they’ve slipped some stability for Stadium Creator in along with this PS5 120hz fix.

Stadium Creator is definitely upgraded and refined following last year’s first outing, but the mode continues to have some issues in previews and saving.

Hopefully those will finally be done away with after the deployment of MLB The Show 22 Update 1.005 on next gen.
