In USA, the PS5 Pro Launched with Similar Sales to the PS4 Pro appeared on www.pushsquare.com by Push Square.
“PS5 Pro had a solid start,” he wrote on Bluesky, “with units in the same ballpark as PS4 Pro’s launch, but I’ll break that down in more detail in a few weeks.” He didn’t clarify whether the PS5 Pro’s launch was higher or lower than the PS4 Pro, but either way, his post implies there’s not much in it.
It’s worth remembering that the PS4 Pro launched for $399.99 in 2016, while the PS5 Pro is $699.99. You have to factor in inflation, of course, but it’s still a big difference.
Sony said last week that pre-orders for the PS5 Pro were slightly stronger than the PS4 Pro, and it reiterated that it doesn’t expect the device to be its main hardware seller. The PS4 Pro accounted for approximately 15% of all PS4 sales, so it’ll be very satisfied with a similar result here.
It looks like, despite all the talk of stock availability and scalpers losing money, everything’s going to plan, then.
