Netflix is gearing up to release its latest R-rated comedy Kinda Pregnant, featuring Amy Schumer in the lead role. The movie will be available for streaming worldwide starting February 5, 2025. Directed by Tyler Spindel, known for films like The Out-Laws and Father of the Year, the comedy promises to deliver a mix of humor and heartfelt moments. The screenplay, written by Julie Paiva, marks her debut in feature-length films.
The film revolves around Lainy, an English teacher who feels envious of her best friend’s pregnancy. To deal with her feelings, she begins wearing a fake baby bump, setting off a series of hilarious and unexpected events. Along the way, Lainy encounters the man of her dreams, leading to comedic chaos as she juggles her deception and personal growth.
Kindra Pregnant has been in development for some time, with updates surfacing as early as 2023. Production kicked off in February 2024 and wrapped up by May 2024. The movie is being produced by Schumer herself, alongside Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. Other producers include Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, Eli Thomas, and Alex Saks.
Amy Schumer stars as Lainy, a role she was involved with from the project’s early stages. The cast also includes:
