Serena Williams has Taylor Swift’s back.
The tennis legend, who made a special appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show, supported Swift on social media after the “Fortnight” singer was apparently booed by the crowd at the Super Bowl on Feb. 9.
“I love you @taylorswift13 dont listen to those booo!!” Williams wrote in an X post.
Swift was met with what sounded like jeers from the crowd when she appeared on the jumbotron during Sunday’s championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
NBC News sports editor Greg Rosenstein shared footage of the moment on X.
“Taylor Swift was just shown on the big screen. Mostly boos from Eagles fans,” he captioned a video of the crowd’s reaction to seeing Swift shortly after kickoff.
The singer was there cheering on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. An entourage of friends joined her in the stands, including the rapper Ice Spice, stylist Ashley Avignone and the sisters of the band Haim.
Clips of Swift reacting to the apparent booing have been making the rounds on social media.
In one video of the moment shared by Rolling Stone, Swift shares some confused wide-eyed expression with Ice Spice before facing forward again with a smile.
After the moment went viral, plenty of fans also shared their support for Swift, including “The Bachelor” star Kelsey Anderson.
“Yall .. people just booed Taylor Swift .. please let her know I wasn’t a part of that,” Anderson wrote on TikTok, sharing a video of herself in the crowd.
Other fans weighed in on the NFL’s Instagram post showing footage of the moment.
“She sold out 3 shows in this exact stadium unlike the people booing,” one person commented, referring to Swift’s three sold-out “Eras Tour” shows at Caesars Superdome in October.
“I don’t get why everyone is so mean to her she’s just attending the game,” another person wrote.
“We love you Taylor! You’re just supporting your man, nothing wrong with that,” another fan commented.
The Eagles won the game 40-22, ending the Chiefs’ hope of a third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
