A Bel Air Home Once Inhabited by The Beatles is Available for $48,000 a Month appeared on www.architecturaldigest.com by Katie Schultz.

Fans were so rabid for the Beatles during their 1964 debut North American tour that tickets to their Hollywood Bowl concert sold out in less than four hours. Ahead of their Los Angeles visit, the foursome was set to stay at the now-demolished Ambassador Hotel, but their reservations were canceled by the lodging establishment due to the (very real) fear of being mobbed by fans. In stepped Mary Poppins actor and fellow Brit Reginald Owen, who rented his Bel Air home to the iconic band for four days for $1,000 (or about $9,700 in today’s value).

Fast forward to today, and the six-bedroom and seven-bathroom home, which hasn’t been on the market in over half a century, is available to lease for $48,000 a month. Dubbed Beatle Manor, the 6,310-square-foot manse sits on a plot that spans just under an acre, complete with numerous gardens, tall palm trees, avocado trees, fountains, terraces, and a swimming pool that John Lennon reportedly jumped into fully clothed.

The traditional structure, which is topped with Spanish-style red clay roof tiles, opens into a light-flooded foyer. Dark hardwood flooring, vaulted and beamed ceilings, wood-burning fireplaces, and elaborate candlestick-style chandeliers are found throughout. An updated kitchen offers tons of prep space, multiple sinks, a butler’s pantry, and a stone island.
