Adele left in agony after revealing disc in her back has ‘worn away’ appeared on www.thesun.co.uk by Howell Davies.
ADELE is performing through the pain during her Las Vegas residency after a disc in her spine disintegrated.
The superstar, 34, said she was in agony with bad knees and complained that one of her discs had worn away.
During the latest show of her Weekends With Adele residency, she asked the crowd: “Is anyone else kind of my age starting getting bad knees?
“I have got really bad sciatica in my left leg and my L5 disc is not f***ing there anymore. It’s worn away.”
The L5 vertebra is the final section of the lumbar spine and injuries to it often cause numbness and weakness in the legs.
She has previously said the pain means she can only waddle instead of walking properly.
Adele kicked off her residency in November and it is due to end next month, with Kim Kardashian, 42, and Kendall Jenner, 27, being among the stars in the crowd at her shows last weekend.
Adele says she wants to continue playing shows in Las Vegas rather than attempting another tour of arenas, as she did in 2016 and 2017.
Speaking to the 4,000-strong crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she explained: “I love making music but there is something about performing live that actually terrifies me.
“That is why I am not a big touring artist. I did it last time to prove I could do it.
“But this experience of being in a room this size, I think I might be a live artist for the rest of my life.
“Honestly, I am the happiest I have ever, ever, ever been.
“Doing two shows a week in a much smaller room and seeing people receive my music is, honestly, just what I am going to do from now on rather than big rooms that make me feel terrified.”
She added: “There is something not quite normal about one person standing in front of 100,000 people. I often felt like Santa Claus or Spongebob or something like that.
“The crowds were amazing, but I couldn’t really see three-quarters of them.”
