Watch as singer songwriter Kaeyra mesmerizes the American Idol judges with her chilling cover of Chris Stapleton’s “Cold.” The 21 year old singer-songwriter accompanies herself on piano on a torchy pop arrangement of the country song.
The clip is a preview from Sunday’s (March 26) American Idol final audition episode before the Hollywood round episodes begin next week.

After her performance, the singer explains that she works at a restaurant, singing four hours a night, where they only permit her to sing covers. If Kaeyra makes it to Hollywood, Katy Perry hopes to hear something “less slow,” adding that she has a vibrato that’s “really cool.” Katy declares, “All the world is not a steakhouse.”
Lionel Richie adds, “It’s all about range. If we can get some of that moody voice you have and put it against a fast song, a mid tempo song…you’ve got all the range you need to make an artist out of this.”
Luke Bryan got on his feet. “I wasn’t expecting that,” he said, “You don’t sound like anybody else…you can tell that music’s been in your world. It was great.”
“I think you are an artist,” says Katy, “I think it’s in your blood…and the universe has put you in the right places just for this moment.” All three judges say “YES!” Kaeyra is headed to Hollywood.
Kaerya previously auditioned for America’s Got Talent, went viral collaborating with Postmodern Jukebox
Kaeyra aka Caroline Baran, auditioned for America’s Got Talent in 2018 with a cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church.” Fans may remember her viral videos for the retro outfit, Postmodern Jukebox which included her rendition of “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica at the age of 15. Additionally, her original titled “All I Know” featuring Caye has over 540K streams on Spotify.
American Idol Auditions 5 airs on ABC Sunday March 26 at 8 pm.
