Amy Schumer rocks futuristic shades indoors to the LA screening of Netflix’s Different Strokes after revealing she suffers from Cushing’s syndrome appeared on www.dailymail.co.uk by Sameer Suri.

Amy Schumer made a striking appearance in shades at a friend’s Netflix premiere – months after announcing she has the hormonal disorder Cushing’s syndrome.

The 43-year-old revealed her diagnosis in February, after fans raised concerns about her appearance and made her realize ‘something was wrong.’

Her condition means that her body has been producing too much cortisol – also known as the stress hormone – over an extended period of time.

This week, she cut a bold figure on the red carpet, wearing sunglasses indoors as she supported her friend Keith Robinson at the premiere of his new standup special at Neuehouse Madison Square in New York City.

Entitled Different Strokes, the special sees Keith candidly discuss his life following the two strokes he has suffered in the past decade.

Amy attended the fete in a crossover coat-blouse, teamed with a pair of grey checked trousers and a snappy set of pink shoes.

Obscuring her features behind a massive set of orange shades, she swept her signature blonde hair up into a fashionably messy updo.

She and Keith could be seen mingling on the red carpet with their friend Michael Che, who is best known as a co-host of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live.

Her appearance comes weeks after she spoke frankly about overcoming her self-consciousness when social media users pointed out the changes to her face.

‘The people who like me are not going to care if my face is puffy. Everyone has moments of self-doubt. I rose up and was like: “F*** it, let’s go,”‘ she told Variety.

Amy faced a deluge of social media comments about her looks in February, after she made multiple public appearances with her face appearing swollen.

In response to the remarks she received, she decided to disclose that she had been diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome.

‘It has been a crazy couple weeks for me and my family,’ she told journalist Jessica Yellin on her Substack page News Not Noise.

‘Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera having the internet chime in. But thank God for that. Because that’s how I realized something was wrong,’ the I Feel Pretty star noted.

‘While I was doing press on camera for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines for hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.’

Amy shares a five-year-old son, named David, with her husband, chef Chris Fischer, whom she has been married to since 2018.

‘So finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable,’ she said.

She decided to go public with her illness in order to be an ‘advocate for women’s health,’ and because the ‘shaming and criticism of our ever-changing bodies is something I have dealt with and witnessed for a long time.’

The Trainwreck star pointed out that her Cushing’s syndrome could serve as ‘a good example of the fact that we never know what is going on with someone.’
