An outfit from Tiger Woods’ new clothing line costs a small fortune appeared on www.mlive.com by Kyle Austin | [email protected].
Looking like Tiger Woods just got a lot more expensive.
Items from the golfer’s new luxury clothing line, Sun Day Red, went on sale this week for the first time, and the price tags attached immediately raised eyebrows.
Men’s polos start at $120 and go up to $175, shorts start at $135, and even ball markers cost $50 (although there’s apparently enough demand for the ball makers, which are sold out.)
The launch of the new line marks a major shift for Woods, the 15-time major winner. He first signed with Nike in 1996 when he turned pro out of Stanford. He stayed with the brand for 27 years and sported a well-known “TW” logo for much of that time as he dominated the world of pro golf and became a global icon.
That longtime partnership ended abruptly in January. The next month, Woods unveiled his new brand, named for his practice of wearing red during Sundays of major golf tournaments. And with the brand came a new logo: a Tiger with 15 stripes to signify his 15 major championships.
Woods has worn that logo since then, including at the Master’s last month, when he made the cut for the 24th consecutive time, setting a tournament record.
And now, he’ll be wearing it at the 2024 U.S. Open, after the USGA granted him a special exemption to be part of the 2024 field.
But if you want to wear the new logo too then be prepared to pony up.
