Be it Katy Perry’s affinity towards strawberries and peppermint, or Louis Tomlinson‘s fond memory of his One Direction song, food tattoos tend to be a reminder of sorts for most musicians. But for fans, these tattoos allow us to gain insight into what fuels our favourite musicians’ creativity, passion, and personal journeys.

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran’s love for Heinz ketchup is no secret. His hit ‘Shape of You’ even mentions putting ketchup on a pizza. Sheeran took his ketchup devotion to the next level by getting a Heinz ketchup bottle tattooed on his arm. His tattoo artist Kevil Paul had earlier revealed that the singer got the tattoo while in the US because he missed it so much. There is even a limited edition Heinz Ketchup bottle with Sheeran’s tattoo on it, which now graces the Museum of Victoria and Albert.

In her excitement to celebrate the success of her hit single ‘7 Rings’, around 2019, Ariana Grande decided to get a tattoo in Japanese characters that she believed read “7 Rings.” She proudly tweeted a picture of her new hand tattoo, only to discover, thanks to the eagle-eyed Twitter community, that it actually read “shichirin,” which translates to a small Japanese grill. This unexpected translation error quickly became a topic of conversation among fans and followers. However, Grande, known for her resilience and positive attitude, took the situation in stride. She explained that the issue had been resolved by adding another Japanese character, known as a kanji, and a heart to form a square.
