Bailey Zimmerman ‘Leave The Light On’ EP Review appeared on www.thenashnews.com by The Nash News.
Bailey Zimmerman proves with his debut EP Leave The Light On that he shows no sign of slowing down. In a genre full of breakout stars, Zimmerman proves time and time again he is unlike any other.
It was the song “Rock And A Hard Place” that launched Zimmerman out of a cannon. His single “Fall In Love” is currently climbing the radio charts as well. Zimmerman – who is just breaking into his 20’s – enjoys sharing new music to fans on social media whenever he can. “Where It Ends” and “Never Leave” are tracks he began teasing on TikTok before he released them. The way he sings about true heartbreak feels authentic and new at the same time. His music has the ability to sound familiar and inventive all at once.
“Waiting” is an acoustic track that captures what it feels like to long for someone. “Another lonesome highway, another one of our songs, nothing gets you off my mind.” While a lot of his songs are mixed with anger and seeking revenge, this song is a raw take on missing someone desperately. “House On Fire” has a similar, intimate feel. Instead, Zimmerman sings about wanting to let go of whatever happened in the past with this person in order to focus on the present. As always, his lyrics are alluring enough to tell a story.
“From The Fall” allows for Zimmerman’s signature vocals to take shape. This particular track feels perfect for the fall season for it has a comforting-country charm. A simple guitar chord with an effortless melody is a combination that works to his favor. “Writing these letters, from the fall, like a goodbye kiss that never leaves at all, colder weather, won’t be long, but it feels like forever just waiting for you to come home.”
In anticipation of this EP, Zimmerman teased the song “Trainwreck.” This song is electric and full of heart: not a far cry from most of his work. Zimmerman sings about the mix of complicated emotions that come with a breakup, and ultimately deciding if you want that person back.
A debut EP is meant to capture an artist’s beginning talents, and to introduce them to the public. Zimmerman has already launched quite the campaign for being one of the most talked about new singer’s of today. The sky is truly the limit for Zimmerman who only began in music a few years ago.
