Bandai Namco Forms New Dev Team To Work On Ace Combat 8 appeared on twistedvoxel.com by TwistedVoxel.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has formed a new development team to work on the next entry in its arcade-style combat flight simulation game series, Ace Combat 8.

The publisher is currently seeking partners to work on a brand new Ace Combat game, presumably Ace Combat 8. The new development studio, called Bandai Namco Aces, has been launched by key individuals  who have previously worked on the Ace Combat series. A brand new office for the studio has been setup by the Bandai Namco Group, and the publisher is currently recruiting staff members for the next Ace Combat project.

Bandai Namco Aces will target photorealism and high-end graphics for its next project. According to the publisher, the studio will enable developers to devote themselves to the challenge of delivering some of the most advanced game experiences. The positions that Bandai Namco Aces is looking to fill include game development engineer, tool development/development environment engineer, server engineer, game designer, level designer, background artist, character artist, UI effects artist, cinematic artist, and technical artist.

Kazutoshi Kono, who is known as the face of the Ace Combat development team, stated that the reason behind creating a dedicated studio for the development of the Ace Combat series was the need for even higher quality, and to establish a new generation of Aces.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is an arcade-style combat flight simulation game developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It launched on consoles on January 2019, followed by a Windows release the next month. The game’s storytelling marks a return to the series’ traditional backdrop of Strangereal. It chronicles the endeavors of “Trigger,” a skilled fighter pilot who becomes part of a penal squadron due to a murder accusation. This all unfolds amidst a full-blown war between the nations of Osea and Erusea. The game extends support for virtual reality, presenting an array of missions designed for the PlayStation VR headset.
