EA has announced that Battlefield 2042 Update 5.2 will be available from next week, introducing the game’s final launch map rework, alongside a range of balance changes, fixes, and other improvements.
The Hourglass map will undergo a rework, improving line of sight, traversal, and combat encounters, with the size set to be reduced in a bit to keep combat focused. Additional cover will offer more opportunities to defend along primary routes, and there will be other improvements implemented, too.
SMGs and LMGs will also be given All-Out Warfare Attachments, and leaders will be able to issue attack or defend via Squad Orders, with squads able to collaborate to earn additional XP by carrying out orders successfully, earning a Squad Order Bonus. Ammo crates, meanwhile, have a shared cooldown between other deployed ammo crates, with a “greatly reduced” recharge and supply time. An extra magazine for primary and secondary weapons will also be added to Ammo crates.
Alongside recent dispersion tweaks to Assault Rifles, SMGs and LMGs will also undergo the same treatment, with all weapons to receive general improvements to dispersion. You can take a look at the full breakdown of Update 5.2 via the Battlefield Blog here.
