Blake Shelton was flattered to see two special people dress up as him and his wife Gwen Stefani this Halloween.
Weekend TODAY anchors Laura Jarrett and Peter Alexander transformed into the beloved couple on October 31, and their looks were totally convincing. Jarrett showed the country side of Stefani by rocking a trucker hat, a denim jacket, and of course, a long blonde wig. Meanwhile, Alexander’s getup consisted of a classic Shelton flannel, jeans, and an acoustic guitar.
The two showed off their outfits on TODAY‘s annual Halloween broadcast, and Shelton himself was more than impressed.
“Hey there, Peter and Laura. That’s pretty damn good, I gotta admit it. I mean, you’re no Hoda [Kotb] playing Blake Shelton, but still pretty dang good. You guys did great. Sounded great, looked great. Happy Halloween,” Shelton told them in a video message.

In a cute behind the scenes moment, we get to see Alexander reacting to Jarrett’s outfit. He gets excited when she emerges from the dressing room, and begins to sing Shelton and Stefani’s duet “Happy Anywhere” via air guitar. How fun!
Gwen Stefani‘s awesome Halloween costume
Stefani herself went all out this Halloween as well, dressing as a character from the 2005 Tim Burton movie Corpse Bride. She rocked a long blue wig and a flower crown in her pictures, and did all the impressive makeup herself.
“So spooooky !! gx?? ? makeup by me:),” she captioned her Instagram post while the classic “Monster Mash” played over the clip.
The elaborate makeup turned out beautifully, which is no surprise, considering that Stefani is the founder of beauty brand GXVE Beauty. Better yet, before her No Doubt fame, she actually was a mall makeup assistant.

Stefani revealed in an interview with Glamour that she tends to do her own makeup for her performances. “I never worked with a makeup artist my entire career, really, other than one here or one there…” she told the outlet. “I found magic in the makeup. It’s not even about how people look; it’s how they feel. Once that makeup goes on, the confidence that comes with it is what stayed with me.”
The singer also talked about her personal connection to the process in a 2019 interview with Wired. “I did my own hair, and makeup, and styling, and everything. You know, for me it’s all about just being on stage and feeling comfortable and being able to perform,” she said.
