Bloober Team Games Could Be Coming to PS Plus
A new rumor suggests that some games developed by Bloober Team will be a part of the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus.
The new PlayStation Plus service is just around the corner. Sony will release the revamped PlayStation Plus tiers in Asian regions on May 23, Japan on June 1, the Americas on June 13, and Europe on June 22. However, fans still have little idea regarding the full lineup of games that will be a part of each tier.
Sony mentioned that PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will get a catalog of up to 400 games, but have only shared a handful of names from the complete list. Furthermore, Sony has yet to reveal the collection of Classic Games that will be a big selling point for the Premium tier. A new rumor suggests that one developer’s games will be a part of these new PS Plus tiers. All leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, but this news seems reasonably plausible.
This rumor comes from bankier.pl and resetera, with Push Square later reporting it. A document dated April 18 suggests that games developed by Polish studio Bloober Team could be added to PS Plus Extra. The paper notes a “significant license and distribution agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment,” and the rumor suggests that select Bloober Team games will be a part of a new distribution service.
If this rumor turns out to be accurate, fans can expect some Bloober Team games to be a part of the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. The studio is known for making horror games like The Medium, Layers of Fear, and Observer, and they should be great additions to the catalog of games offered by Sony. A leak suggested that Bloober Team was working on a new Silent Hill game, but the developer had denied reports of this rumor in the summer of last year.
Aside from the initial announcement, Sony has not revealed much about the upcoming PlayStation Plus revamp. Fans have no idea about the games offered as a part of the service, and Sony will likely show the complete list just before it releases in Asian regions. Only the following games are confirmed at launch – Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.
Sony has also not yet revealed how Game Trials will work for PS Plus Premium subscribers. A recent report suggested that all games priced at $34 or higher will need to offer users a two-hour trial within three months of their launch. It could potentially be a big incentive for users to subscribe to PS Plus Premium, and Sony will hopefully share more details about the service in the coming days.
