Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II To See Return of Hardcore Multiplayer for Season 2 | XboxAchievements.com appeared on www.xboxachievements.com by Richard Walker.
Developer Infinity Ward has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will soon see the return of Hardcore mode to multiplayer, offering a stripped down competitive experience, with the HUD removed and friendly fire switched on.
“No HUD? No problem. Hardcore is back! Follow Season 02’s Multiplayer updates in our studio blog later this week,” the studio tweeted (via Eurogamer). Season 2 had been scheduled to commence at the beginning of February, but will now be arriving for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 on 15th February.
As well as the removal of the HUD and friendly fire, Hardcore also drastically reduces the time-to-kill (TTK) in multiplayer, making one or two bullets enough to take down an enemy player. Hardcore has been a staple CoD mode for some time now, and had been replaced by a ‘Tier 1’ multiplayer playlist for Season 01.
Season 02 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0 will go live from 15th February, with Warzone 2.0 to receive a new smaller map, the return of Resurgence, and the 1v1 Gulag, as well as various changes to looting and loadouts. DMZ will also be getting missions, adjustments to difficulty, and a new Exclusion Zone.
