Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector Will Be Coming To Game Pass At Launch appeared on press-start.com.au by Kieron Verbrugge.
Jump Over The Age and Fellow Traveller have revealed that Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, the sequel to last year’s excellent dice-based narrative RPG that remains one of my favourite indie titles in recent memory, is on its way to us at an unannounced date in the future and while we don’t know exactly when we do know that it’ll be available on Game Pass on day one – just like its predecessor.
The game’s creator, Gareth Damian Martin, also took to the Xbox Wire blog to share some insight into the sequel, revealing that one of the biggest shake-ups this time around is that players will have their own spaceship. The ship will allow for travel around the Starward Belt, which implies we’ll be dealing with a much bigger location this time around, as well as give access to high-risk, high-reward contracts by building out your own crew.
One of the game’s first proper hub locations where players will take on contracts and gather crew to be revealed is Hexport, which features a bustling trade hall and an industrial sector all taking advantage of the station’s pre-collapse solar power tech. You can see Hexport in the new video below:
The original Citizen Sleeper is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC and is included with Game Pass subscriptions, so if the idea of a short-form, sci-fi indie narrative RPG with a fantastic sense of place and richly-written characters with plenty of high stakes, why not check it out?
We gave the game a 9/10 in our review, which is also updated to cover the three free DLCs released since launch, saying “I came away feeling the best I’ve felt about any of Citizen Sleeper’s prior possible resolutions, and I would absolutely urge anyone that’s played the main story portion to come back and play through all three new episodes.”
