Comedian Louis CK to return to Mobile Saenger Theatre appeared on www.al.com by Lawrence Specker | [email protected].
Comedian Louis CK will return to the Mobile Saenger Theatre in January, revisiting a venue that’s been welcoming ground in the past.
The show is scheduled for Jan. 18, a Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 16, through Ticketmaster, at outlets including the Mobile Saenger and Mobile Civic Center box offices.
According to the show announcement, “This event will be a phone-free experience. Use of cellphones, smart watches, smart accessories, cameras or recording devices will not be permitted in the performance space. Anyone seen using a cellphone during the performance will be escorted out of the venue.”

The comedian last headlined the Saenger in January 2020, an occasion that was sold out. It was part of a comeback tour following a controversy that had stopped his career dead in 2017, after he was accused of (and acknowledged) using his position in the industry to subject women to sexual exposure.
At that 2020 show, Louis CK offered a limited apology, depicting himself as a person whose kinks had gotten him in “global trouble,” but who was really no worse than the people laughing at him. Throughout the set he demonstrated that he remained willing to push the limits with jokes about religion and other hot-button topics.
In addition to the prohibition on cell phones and other recording devices, the show is limited to patrons 18 and older.
