“Delusional” Greg Gutfeld celebrates Louis CK in cancel culture rant appeared on lastnighton.com by Last Night On.
Greg Gutfeld reminded viewers once again this week just how angry cancel culture makes him. Speaking on Louis CK’s recent comedy tour run, Gutfeld slammed woke protesters who had hoped CK would never reach the spotlight again after facing sexual misconduct allegations.
“I don’t condone what he did, and the women involved have every right to feel how they feel, but at least Louis asked for permission,” Gutfeld told viewers last Friday.
Back in 2017, Louis CK was accused of sexual misconduct by five women. The comedian would then hide for around a year before performing at small venues. In a recent comedy special, CK told fans he was forced to travel to Poland to continue his routine.
The popular comedian just recently live-streamed a comedy performance for a sold-out Maddison Square Garden crowd after releasing two widely popular specials in recent years.
Gutfeld continued, suggesting those who continue to dislike CK shouldn’t force such a viewpoint on others. If they do, the Fox host suggests you’re participating in “bully culture”.
“This dude is delusional”
The Fox anchor is receiving mixed feedback after his recent late-night monologue. One user on Twitter accused Gutfeld of downplaying the severity of CK’s allegations, claiming the comedian “used his position of power and influence to force the women to dismissively give “consent””.
Another responded to Greg’s comments, writing: “Cancel culture is calling everything “woke” as an excuse to try to get rid of it.”
Funnily enough, we haven’t seen anywhere near as much backlash as we thought when CK began making on-air appearances again early this year.
As of now, CK has joined the likes of podcasting figures, Joe Rogan, Theo Von and Tim Dillon for long-form interviews. Obviously, no matter how important Gutfeld may perceive CK’s cancellation to be, the comedian was very easily able to mingle his way back into the comedy scene, almost as if nothing ever happened. Good or bad, it’s certainly a remarkable turn of events for the comedy legend.
Do you think CK should be allowed to make a return to the comedy scene? Let us know.
