Destiny 2’s Season 22 Preview: What to Expect appeared on gameishard.gg by Game Is Hard.

Destiny 2 and its developer, Bungie, are currently facing some challenges. In the past, the “State of the Game” blogs would announce positive changes coming with the next paid DLC, but this time, the community was disappointed. Bungie clarified that there would not be a big PvP content drop or a yearly ritual armor refresh. This, along with the underwhelming Lightfall DLC release, led to further disappointment among players.

However, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Bungie’s new “This Week in Destiny” blog highlights some upcoming features. Following game director Joe Blackburn’s promise to address the game’s problems, the blog reveals that Season 22, starting on August 22, will bring potential positive changes.

Some notable highlights for Season 22 include:

– The Exotic mission rotator, allowing players to experience old Exotic missions and earn rewards.
– A revamp of Destiny 2’s resource economy.
– Comprehensive rebalancing of many old Exotic armor pieces and abilities.
– PvP changes focused on respawns, matchmaking, and related features.

These features are expected to launch with Season 22. Additionally, a mysterious Raid will make a return during the season. Blackburn has also promised further PvP improvements with yearly map packs and beyond.

However, the big question remains: Will Bungie deliver on its promises? The studio is also working on a Marathon revival and has confirmed that Destiny 2’s seasonal content model will undergo significant changes with the release of the Lightfall DLC in 2024. Fans may need to brace themselves for a potentially rocky rest of the year.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
