Dianne Feinstein’s Aspen vacation home sells for $25 million appeared on www.sfchronicle.com by Cynthia Dizikes.
The Colorado vacation home of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who recently announced that she will not seek re-election in 2024, has sold for $25.25 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Journal reported last week that the sprawling residence, which is just outside downtown Aspen, listed for sale in July for $29.9 million after the death of Feinstein’s husband of 42 years, Richard Blum.
The roughly 36-acre property, known as Bear Paw Ranch, was sold by a family trust whose beneficiaries are Blum’s three daughters from a previous marriage, the Journal reported.
The property records examined by the Journal showed that the buyer was a limited liability company connected to Sankesh Abbhi, the chief executive of Sitero, a software company.
In 2021, a Lake Tahoe property linked to the senator and her husband was also listed for sale for $41 million after having been unsuccessfully listed the year before for $46 million. That November, the New York Post reported that Feinstein and Blum had found a buyer after reducing the price further to $36 million.
Feinstein, at 89 the oldest sitting member of Congress, was first elected to the Senate in 1992 after serving as a San Francisco supervisor and mayor. In February, she announced that this would be her last term in the Senate. Three Democratic House members — Barbara Lee of Oakland, Katie Porter of Irvine and Adam Schiff of Burbank — have announced campaigns for the seat.
