Elvis starring Austin Butler will be screened for free in 10 cities to commemorate what would have been the late singer’s 88th birthday
The recent film Elvis starring Austin Butler will be screening for free in 10 cities across North America on the King Of Rock And Roll’s birthday on January 8.
To remember the life and legacy of Elvis Presley – who passed away at the age of 42 in 1977 – Warner Bros and his estate Graceland will be holding free screenings of the film for fans of the late singer.
The 2022 biographical film – that was nominated for three Golden Globes – has Butler portraying the musician.

Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi and died on August 16, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee.
He would have been turning 88 years old this year.
While the film is available to watch on HBO Max, the screenings will include special introductions by Butler and director Baz Luhrmann.
There will also be thirty minutes of behind-the-scenes footage highlighting the making of the movie – which has grossed $284 million worldwide at the time of this publication.
Elvis will be streaming for free in: Atlanta (AMC Phipps Plaza); Chicago (AMC River East); Dallas (AMC NorthPark); Kansas City, KS (AMC Town Center); Los Angeles (AMC Burbank); New York City (Loews 34th Street); and San Francisco (AMC Metreon).
In Canada, the film will screen in Toronto (Cineplex Scotiabank) and Vancouver (Cineplex Odeon International Village).

All screenings will take place at 5 p.m. minus the screening in Los Angeles which will begin at 4 p.m.
There will be an additional 2 p.m. screening at the late singer’s estate Graceland in Memphis.
Earlier on Tuesday, Luhrmann took to social media to wish fans of the film a happy New Year and teased about the surprise ahead of Elvis Presley‘s birthday.

‘Happy New Year from the Gold Coast,’ he said in the clip. ‘On behalf of the entire cast and crew of Elvis, thank you for going out and seeing it.’
He added: ‘Warner Bros. and the Presley estate have some presents to make it unlike any other Elvis birthday which has been.’
Previously, the Moulin Rouge director promised fans that he would be releasing a four-hour version of the box office hit.
The Australian filmmaker explained that the extended version of Elvis would be released shortly after he has had a break to rest and to finish the edits.
