Ex-One Direction star Liam Payne spotted in Northern Ireland appeared on www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk by Brett Campbell.
The 30-year-old singer was photographed at Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Ballintoy, Co Antrim on Friday.
The image was shared on the Facebook page of the National Trust attraction which expressed delight over the celebrity visit.
“Welcome & Service Assistant, Josh, was in his element yesterday when he spotted One Direction star, Liam Payne,” it posted online.
“Josh was more than happy to share his knowledge of the site, and answer any questions Liam had (all in exchange for a pic of course)
“We hope Liam had a fantastic visit to Carrick-a-Rede, and that he enjoys the rest of his time in Northern Ireland.”
The visit stirred up excitement among the singer’s many fans who took to social media to comment.
“I’m surprised you are not there yet,” one person joked to a friend.
One shocked user replied saying “OMG” as others expressed regret at missing out on catching a glimpse of the star.
“We should have gone,” one person wrote, while tagging a friend.
Payne was seen filming in County Sligo seaside resort of Strandhill on Thursday for the show, which is understood to document his trip around Ireland in a camper van.
It comes just weeks after the former X Factor contestant postponed his upcoming tour after suffering a serious kidney infection.
Performances in South America were put on hold after Payne was taken to hospital in August.
The solo artist apologised to fans and insisted he was following doctor’s orders and planning to “rest and recover” following the health scare.
In a statement posted on Instagram Payne told those who had bought tickets to the gig that he had no choice.
“It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America,” he explained.
“Over the past week, I’ve been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctor’s orders are that I now need to rest and recover.
“I was beyond excited to come play for you guys. To all of you who have bought tickets: I’m so sorry.”
The decision affected dates in Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia.
In video message, Payne added: “This really is the last news I want to be telling you… We started rehearsals and I’ve been advised that now is really not the right time to be travelling on the road while I recover from this.
“I’ve got the best people around me at home trying to help me recover as we speak.”
Payne, who was put together with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson on ITV talent show in 2010, went on hiatus in 2015 when the band split.
Members enjoyed global success with hits such as Best Song Ever, What Makes You Beautiful, Kiss You, Steal My Girl and Live While We’re Young.
As a solo act Payne has had chart success with songs including Strip That Down and For You (featuring Rita Ora).
