Fairview High’s Sizemore to offer presentation on mechatronics
Originally reported on www.williamsonherald.com
Local students can now pursue a college major in a discipline of engineering called mechatronics, and teacher Kevin Sizemore is preparing many Fairview High School students for this exciting field of study.
Mechatronics has been called the fourth Industrial Revolution. Ford Motor Company is building Blue Oval City in West Tennessee, bringing 5,800 jobs using this new technology.
Sizemore, who is also the Fairview High soccer coach, will be presenting more about mechatronics during a presentation sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Williamson County, via Zoom at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
He will explain how this new discipline is much more than mechanics and electronics, as the name implies, but includes many other areas such as computer science, robotics, and telecommunications.
Register online for this program at the Brentwood Library calendar website: https://brentwood-tn.libcal.com. The Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants on Tuesday, Sept. 20. Email Maddie.hicks@brentwoodtn.gov for registration questions, or BeckerAm530@gmail.com regarding the program.
