Fast Forward, a Kenny Chesney Tribute, will be onstage at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, and Smokin’ and Renegade will play at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Daytona Beach Bandshell.
Derek “Cowboy Kenny” Villegas started his first band in 2000. Mr. Villegas spent several years as lead vocalist and entertainer playing throughout South Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country. His band was featured at many county fairs, corporate events, concerts and City of San Antonio events such as the annual two-week celebration “Fiesta” in Downtown San Antonio.
Mr. Villegas has since relocated to Florida where he has been drawing rave reviews from audiences all over.
After years of fans likening his look and sound to Kenny Chesney, Fast Forward, the Ultimate Kenny Chesney Tribute, was born. Mr. Villegas and Fast Forward provide the ultimate experience by producing the most authentic Kenny Chesney tribute anywhere in the world. Fast Forward is presented by Daytona International Speedway.
Get ready to rock on Saturday, Aug. 19, as The Boardwalk Merchants and Friends of the Bandshell present Smokin’ and Renegade, tributes to Boston and STYX.
Smokin’ will take the Bandshell stage to pay tribute to the legendary band Boston. Boston is one of the hardest bands to pay tribute to, and Smokin’ has what it takes. Smokin’ plays all of Boston’s hits and classics to the tee.
This South Florida band comprises members that have toured with national acts, played in some of the biggest tribute bands and have over 30 years of professional gigging experience under their collective belts. They have wowed attendees at the legendary Daytona Beach Bandshell, the South Florida Fair and have rocked many live nation venues like House of Blues.
Concert attendees can expect popular Boston songs like “More Than A Feeling” and “Don’t Look Back.”
Following Smokin’s performance is Renegade. Renegade delivers one of the most dynamic STYX tribute shows on today’s music scene, bringing a fantastic stage show with multiple vocalists to recreate the amazing harmonies of STYX.
Their energetic show is a must-see for any classic rock fan. As one of the biggest classic rock bands of the ‘70s and ‘80s, STYX dazzled fans worldwide for over 30 years. They produced monster hits with their stadium rock, power ballads and concept albums.
Concert attendees can expect to be blown away by the powerful lead vocals and melodic guitars during hits like “Too Much Time On My Hands,” “The Best of Times” and “Come Sail Away.”
The two concert series are free, but there is a VIP option for $15, which includes a seat.
Guests are welcome to bring their own chairs, buy VIP tickets or rent a seat for $5.
