For this reason, Tim Cook keeps senior employees at Apple even when they are no longer doing anything appeared on www.letemsvetemapplem.eu by Jan Vajdák.

If you look at the absolute leadership of the company Apple, you will see ladies and men aged, most of them over fifty, and as it now turns out, Apple deliberately keeps such employees in senior positions. Tim Cook prefers senior employees, not only in terms of position but also in age, to maintain people’s trust in the company. Information about this was brought by Mark Gurman in the latest edition of his newsletter for Bloomberg. To understand how the principle that Tim Cook adheres to works, it is necessary to go back to the moment when Steve Jobs left the company.

Shortly after Jobs’ death, Bob Mansfield, one of the key figures in all of Apple’s hardware engineering, wanted to leave. Concerned that his departure might upset shareholders, Cok persuaded him to stay. Apple it cost a fairly substantial amount of money, but according to cook and other key people, it paid off and Mansfield did indeed stay at Apple. On the other hand, however, according to Gurman, Mansfield basically had nothing to poke at, so he simply waited a few years for him to Apple allocated development Apple Czar, from whom, after a few years, however, he left anyway. As a result, for ten years Mansfield, according to Gurman, has been paid mainly to remain a part of Apple and not to do anything.

The same tactic was used by Tim Cook in 2015, when Jony Ive wanted to leave. He wanted to go back to Britain, where he comes from, no matter what, and so he had to Apple reach into the coffers and offer Jony an astronomical salary, despite the fact that he only allowed him to work one or two days a week. Even that didn’t help, and Ive eventually left and started his own company. Even so, however Apple gambled that Ive and his Lovefrom would be with Apple work very closely together. He allegedly used the same tactics Apple also for Phil Schiller who wanted to leave. A final example of when Apple used this method is just a few days ago the departure of CFO Luca Maestri, who wanted to leave, but instead will not be CFO, but will remain with the company and will be an advisor to Tim Cook. Apple he has money to give away, but Gruman asks himself whether it is appropriate to employ people who actually do nothing and are part of the company, for which they receive tens of millions of dollars a year.
