Former Xbox Console Exclusive is Jumping Ship to PS5 appeared on gamerant.com by Game Rant.
Former Xbox console exclusive game Naraka: Bladepoint is jumping ship to PS5 on July 13. Naraka: Bladepoint is a melee-focused battle royale game that has been an Xbox console exclusive for the past year. At first, it was only available on Xbox Series X on consoles, but an Xbox One port followed about half a year later.
Not only was Naraka: Bladepoint only available on PC and Xbox consoles for quite some time, but it also debuted on Xbox as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. Naraka: Bladepoint enjoyed some success through Game Pass and was generally well-received, though it didn’t have much in the way of staying power. By coming to the PS5, Naraka: Bladepoint will be able to expand its potential audience and that could mean big things for the longevity of the battle royale in the long run.
Come Naraka: Bladepoint‘s PS5 debut on July 13, the game will also be going free-to-play. This means that even those on Xbox who aren’t signed up for the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will soon get to play Naraka: Bladepoint for themselves as well. To celebrate the occasion, Naraka: Bladepoint will be releasing a slew of new content, including some PlayStation 5-exclusive items.
Besides the PS5 exclusive items, Naraka: Bladepoint is adding a new 12v12 game mode called Capture the Spirit Well, the new Dual Halberds weapon, the new playable character Tessa, rewards to those that bought the game before it went free-to-play, a 3D lobby, and more. It will be interesting to see if this new content is enough to not only attract new players to Naraka: Bladepoint, but also bring back lapsed players who have moved on to other titles.
While some Xbox gamers may be jealous about the PS5 exclusive items coming to Naraka: Bladepoint, they can look forward to all the other new content that’s making its way to the game. Those that purchased the game on Xbox will be able to snag the veteran rewards, while those who played the game through Xbox Game Pass will have a lot to look forward to as well. Anyone that played Naraka: Bladepoint through Xbox Game Pass are getting updated to the Deluxe Edition and its associated rewards.
Naraka: Bladepoint had a strong start, and it could very well be making a big comeback if all goes to plan. It’s just the latest former Xbox console exclusive to jump ship to PS5, and one has to wonder what other games may be making the switch in the near future.
Naraka: Bladepoint is available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a PS5 version dropping July 13.
