An attempt was made last Thursday to post the regularly scheduled Epic giveaway announcement but Valve apparently had some other ideas. Things seem to have been sorted out and there are still 48 hours to go so no big loss. The only thing that worked properly was the post in the ANNOUNCEMENT NOTIFICATION THREAD so you might want to consider subscribing there as a backup in case something like this ever happens again.
