Today’s Heardle isn’t exactly what I’d call a relaxing song for a Sunday, but it’s pretty stellar all the same. If you’re stuck and need today’s Heardle answer (or maybe just some clues), I’m here to help you out.
Heardle works like this: You get six guesses to find the title and artist for a mystery song. The more guesses it takes (or the more times you skip), the more you’ll hear of the intro. It’s pretty straightforward.
We’ve had some killer Heardle tracks over the last week, including:
Monday, April 25: “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones
Tuesday, April 26: “1 Thing” by Amerie
Wednesday, April 27: “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts
Thursday, April 28: “Stay (I Missed You)” by Lisa Loeb and & Nine Stories
Friday, April 29: “Young Hearts Run Free” by Candi Staton
Saturday, April 30: “It’s Gonna Be Me” by NSYNC
But hey, if you don’t know it, you don’t know it. This isn’t a logic-based game like Wordle. Heardle is about testing your musical knowledge. If you need a little help jogging your memory, I’ve got some clues for you.
Today’s Heardle clues for Sunday, May 1 are:
- This is listed as a protest song on Wikipedia.
- It was released in 1992.
- This didn’t chart in the US the first time around, but hit number 25 in the UK and the top ten in Australia and New Zealand.
- It has a long-lasting legacy. A campaign by fans made this song the UK’s Christmas number one in 2009, breaking the stranglehold that reality show singing contest winners had on that distinction.
Still stumped? Not to worry. Here’s the answer.
Heardle Answer For May 1
Today’s Heardle answer is “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine.
I had absolutely no problem at all with this one. Every note, beat and word of this song is embedded in my soul. I got it on the first guess.
When I was visiting family a few weeks back, my friends and I went to a rock club night. This played toward the end of the night. We all lost it (especially having had several pints of some deliciously evil drink called Venom). That was a good time.
Anyway, you can listen to this all-time classic in full below. Just, uh, maybe make sure no kids are in earshot of this one.
