Gov. Kathy Hochul on Friday endorsed nine New York Democrats running in for the U.S. House of Representatives this November after they secured the party’s nomination on Tuesday.
All of her endorsements issued were for challengers running for Congress in either open seats that have been newly drawn or taking on Republican incumbents.
“I’m proud to endorse the Democratic Party’s slate of congressional challengers following Tuesday’s primary elections,” Hochul said. “These candidates share a strong commitment to delivering results and will ensure that New York’s values are protected in Washington. Abortion rights, gun safety and democracy are on the ballot, and I look forward to working alongside each of these candidates to defeat Republicans and defend the Democratic House majority this November.”
Hochul endorsed on Long Island Democrats Bridget Fleming, Jackie Gordon, Robert Zimmerman and Laura Gillen. In New York City, Hochul endorsed Dan Goldman, who won a hotly contested and crowded primary for the 10th district.
Upstate, Hochul is endorsing Rep. Elise Stefanik’s Democratic opponent Matt Castelli, Josh Riley in the Hudson Valley, Francis Conole in Central New York and Steven Holden in a bid against Rep. Claudia Tenney.
