“I Don’t Really Want This”: Mike Tyson Receives “F**ked Up” Response for Being Skeptical About His Future as a Podcast Host appeared on www.essentiallysports.com by EssentiallySports.
The show is in its fifth season. With nearly 147 videos, sixty-seven million views, and about to touch a million subscriptions, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson is among the most famous shows on YouTube. But the statistics seem insufficient to convince ‘Iron’ Mike, for he appears forlorn and skeptical about the future. Fans relish watching and hearing stories from him. But the boxing icon comes off as having afterthoughts on what lies ahead.
Last month, Columbian singer J Balvin joined the show as a guest. The Medellin-based musician, who gave the hit number, ‘Mi Gente,’ which has grabbed over 3 billion views since it appeared on YouTube, is also known as the ‘Prince of Reggaeton.’ Joining DJ Whoo Kid and Mike Tyson, he took them through the journey that saw him reach the top echelons of the Spanish music world.

After dwelling through a diverse range of topics and subjects, with some ten minutes left, DJ Whoo Kid mentioned how a few individuals spent their life without trying anything different. Tyson added that they expect others to care for them, which might not be so. Looking at Balvin, he asked whether he went through a stage in his career when he trusted someone but got stabbed in the back.
Sighing, the Columbian singer termed it one of the lousiest things that could happen to someone. Sharing how it doesn’t feel nice when you realize you are being used by someone you considered a friend, he said, “…and it’s bad because that’s not my code, you know [I] I run by a different code. You know, great, being grateful and loyal is all I need, and that’s all I ask when you have a friendship, you know…” Even though people tell him not to have any expectations of loyalty, Balvin continued, it’s impossible.
Mike Tyson, not sure how the future unfolds
Mentioning the hurt one goes through, he elaborated that humans can’t be equated with products. But Mike Tyson added that he looked at himself as a product. Calling his abilities unremarkable, he said, “…I don’t think I’m so special I didn’t really want this, um podcast, for me, I’ve been through and the mistakes I made. You think you might want to listen to me, and so people kind of like it, so I don’t know, if I’m really want to do this all my life or anything like that for a long duration of my time but since it’s working now it’s cool.“

But Whoo Kid, it seems, would have none of it. He said that he (Tyson) would continue with it for perhaps a lifetime. Die-hard fans and followers won’t leave him alone. They want to see and hear more of him. Probably Whoo Kid spoke on behalf of the entire fandom; it’s remarkably close to the truth.
