“I want all the evil in you to come out”: Martin Sheen’s Crazy Scene in $150M War Movie Put Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘Django Unchained’ Sequence to Shame – FandomWire appeared on fandomwire.com by FandomWire.

Martin Sheen once starred in a 1979 war movie titled Apocalypse Now. With Francis Ford Coppola as the director, the movie received an overwhelmingly positive review from audiences as Sheen was praised highly for his acting skills and dedication to his role.

From what sources said, Sheen sliced his hand open while punching a mirror. The mirror wasn’t a prop but Sheen allegedly went violent on the director Francis Ford Coppola for reasons unknown. Another source alleged that Coppola was abusive to Sheen but the scene was very similar to Leonardo DiCaprio’s Django Unchained scene.

Apocalypse Now was a 1979 war movie that featured Martin Sheen as Captain Benjamin L. Willard. Boasting an impressive story, the film was helmed by notable and iconic director Francis Ford Coppola (from The Godfather fame).

Recalling a classic tale during the shooting of the movie, a story narrated the tale of how Sheen was so dedicated to the role that he suffered a grievous injury and yet continued to shoot the scene. During a scene, the actor smashed a mirror. The mirror wasn’t a prop and Martin Sheen actually sliced his hand open. Being a passionate actor, he decided to go with the pain and continued to shoot the scene while bleeding profusely from his hand.

The scene reminded people of the time when Leonardo DiCaprio also cut his hand during a scene in the 2013 movie Django Unchained. Starring alongside Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson, DiCaprio never gave in to the pain and continued to shoot the scene just like Martin Sheen.

Shooting an iconic scene in Django Unchained, Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Calvin Candie slammed the table a couple of times. The table had glasses that broke when DiCaprio slammed his hand on the table and much like Martin Sheen, he also cut his hand during the scene.

Notable director Quentin Tarantino and Leonardo DiCaprio continued to film the scene without a cut as the Titanic actor did not give in to the pain and delivered an eye-catching performance. So all in all, DiCaprio and Martin Sheen are both veteran actors who braved their pain to deliver one of their best scenes in Hollywood.
