James Corden details Adele prank that went terribly wrong appeared on pagesix.com by Caroline Blair.
James Corden tried to pull a prank on “the unprankable” Adele, but it went terribly wrong.
During Monday’s final “Carpool Karaoke” segment, the two best friends reflected on an unaired prank the late-night show host tried to pull on her after she declared that “no one can ever prank me.”
“I set up this whole thing — and to say it out loud now, it’s so ridiculous — that there was a wild bear on the loose and we’d flown this animatronic bear from Canada,” Corden, who was sitting on the passenger seat this time around, said.
The “Late Late Show” host explained that his team had coordinated an interview with Adele at a house, where she would then be interrupted by park rangers warning her that the bear was near.
Corden even got CBS News anchor Gayle King in on the joke by having her record a fake news segment about the missing bear, which would be played in Adele’s make-up room.
However, the harmless prank quickly took a turn when someone from Adele’s team — who had been unaware of the prank — spotted one of the hidden cameras and told Adele, 34.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer added that her thought process was, “I’m being spied on” and “who the f–k owns this house?”
But things only got worse when she then entered a second room that featured “wall-to-wall” merch and photos of herself.
“Oh my God, no, I’m not happy being here, I’m really uncomfortable,” she could be heard saying in the never-before-seen footage.
Noticing how “uncomfortable” and in distress she was, Corden and his team decided to pull the plug on the joke.
“She’s unprankable! She cannot be pranked!” Corden concluded during their last carpool ride together.
The segment marked Corden’s final “Carpool Karaoke” since this is his last week hosting the hit CBS late-night talk show after eight years.

The comedian announced last April that he’d be doing one more year before resigning and moving back to London.
“It’s been it’s a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show,” Corden said in a statement at the time. “I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave and then I stayed on. I’ve really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure.”
“The Late Late Show with James Corden” airs weeknights at 12:35 a.m. on CBS.
