Jeff Bezos files complaint against Elon Musk to US government appeared on www.thenews.com.pk by Web Desk.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has complained to the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), asking to limit the number of launches Elon Musk’s Space X can conduct in Florida, reigniting the billionaire feud, Business Insider reported.
Blue Origin has asked the FAA to put a cap on SpaceX’s Ss-SH, citing several concerns, particularly for the local environment, and arguing that “Ss-SH operations are expected to have a greater environmental impact than any other launch system currently operating” nearby.
In response, Tesla’s chief executive posted on his social media platform X: “Sue Origin.”
As per reports, a past Space X launch created heat and pressure equivalent to a volcanic eruption, causing soil and sand to rain down on a nearby town.
Space X is currently building its Starship-Super Heavy, which will be the largest and most powerful launch system on Earth.
According to the filing, the Super Heavy booster can contain up to an “unprecedented” 5,200 metric tonnes of liquid methane for its propulsion, which Blue Origin said may result in “qualified distances for safety margins that potentially overlap the operational sites of other companies, the government, and the public.”
Space X plans to launch the Starship once every year.
In addition to the limit request, Blue Origin also suggested some other options, such as requiring Space X to compensate for any losses caused by their operations and to build more infrastructure around launch facilities.
