Jennifer Lawrence Wanted BFF Amy Schumer’s Liposuction To Stay Secret After Having To Defend Herself From Cruel Plastic Surgery Allegations appeared on fandomwire.com by FandomWire.
Jennifer Lawrence returned to the big screen earlier this summer in s*x comedy No Hard Feelings, wherein her character Maddie Barker tries to bring awkward teen Percy Becker out of his shell.
Maddie struggled to seduce Percy in the movie but Lawrence’s fans were left stunned by, and in awe of, the 33-year-old’s glamorous looks. Given her popularity, the actress has also raised the eyebrows of a few doubters who credited the secret of her beauty with surgery in recent times. The rumors also forced the Oscar winner to assure her fans she had not gone under the knife in one of her interviews.
While the internet tried to work out the mysteries of Lawrence’s looks, the actress was left surprised by how her BBF Amy Schumer handled the update on her liposuction.

How Jennifer Lawrence Reacted to Amy Schumer Publicly Admitting to Getting Liposuction
After getting her uterus and appendix removed in September to fix her endometriosis, Amy Schumer admitted in 2022 that she had opted for liposuction. She took to Instagram Stories to reveal that she weighs 170 pounds after the procedures.
Further, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Schumer explained her decision, insisting she was tired of looking at herself in the mirror and just wanted to like her body.
Social media users praised Schumer’s honesty, but the same upfrontness left her very good friend Jennifer Lawrence stumped, as she thought the procedure would be a secret. Lawrence told the New Yorker:
“When she got liposuction, I just assumed that would be a secret. And then, it wasn’t! It’s a part of her—I hate using this word—relatability.”
The Hunger Games star, however, went on to admit that she can see the positives to not hiding things from the public, adding the idea of being an open book benefitted her career in some ways.

How Amy Schumer Reacted to Hollywood Stars Lying About Using Ozempic
Going under the knife isn’t the only step Schumer has taken to lose her weight. She has been very candid about the use of Ozempic as well and has even talked about the side effects of the type 2 diabetes medication, which has supposedly become a popular option for weight loss in Hollywood.
The 42-year-old revealed it left her feeling sick and stopped her from playing with her son. Further, Schumer also called out celebrities for not being upfront about their use of the same. She said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (via E!):
“Everyone and their mom is gonna try it. Everyone has been lying saying, ‘Oh, smaller portions.’ Like, shut the f–k up. You are on Ozempic or one of those things, or you got work done. Just stop.”
Schumer certainly doesn’t like to mince her words, even if it means stunning her BFF Jennifer Lawrence or annoying some Hollywood stars who like to keep their weight-loss journey under wraps.
