Kenny Chesney Soaks In Iceland’s Blue Lagoon appeared on wkml.com by Nancy Brooks // Country Writer, Beasley Media Group.

After a summer of touring, Kenny Chesney is enjoying some downtime and vacationing in Iceland. Kenny posted a photo of himself emersed in the Blue Lagoon.

The Blue Lagoon is famous for its steamy mineral-rich water and soft white silica mud, both of which have healing effects on the skin. Locals and visitors have long enjoyed the benefits of bathing in the Blue Lagoon and spreading silica mud on their skin, and scientists have even studied its curative powers.

The Blue Lagoon’s official website says, “Blue Lagoon Iceland is a place where the powers of geothermal seawater create transformational spa journeys.” People can visit the spa for less than $400.

Kenny posted, along with the image of himself in a lagoon, “Blue Lagoon was one beautiful experience. So magical.”

Many of Chesny’s almost two million Instagram followers reacted to the post, including one fan who wrote, “Omg this looks amazing.” Another fan commented, “This lagoon probably has amazing health benefits as well. Nice to see you relaxing, my friend.” One more fan said, “This was my favorite vacation ever. Absolutely stunning country.”

Last week, Chesney posted some images of Red Sox baseball player Tim Wakefield and himself on Instagram. He was mourning Wakefield’s death of brain cancer on October 1 at age 57.

Kenny said to his nearly 2 million followers in the post, “A very tough time for Red Sox Nation and @noshoesnation. Goodbye to my friend Tim Wakefield who I shared a lot of laughs with. Tim threw batting practice to me and a few friends at @fenwaypark in 2004. He came to countless shows over the years, and I’m sure gonna miss him. Rest in peace, pal.”

Wakefield was a right-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox who, in 2004, played a critical role in the team’s winning its first World Series championship in eighty-six years.
