Leak: Sony Will Bring These Classic Games To PS5
Sony is changing the way PS Plus will work, with a new three tier system and a big selection of games that will be playable on PS4 and PS5 with a subscription. The most expensive tier will offer “a catalog of beloved classic games available from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations”. Sony hasn’t officially said what these games will be, but you know how it goes… that stuff obviously leaked.
Data Miner Found Classics Coming to PS Plus
This leak comes from Reddit user u/the_andshrew, who uncovered several classic games in the data of the PlayStation Network. While Sony hasn’t officially confirmed, that these games will actually appear on the new PS Plus, it is pretty obviously the case that they will. The service is supposed to go live on June 22, so in less than two months, and it looks like Sony is slowly putting these games into their system.
What Classic Games Are Coming To PS Plus?
The list of games is WIP, as Sony is constantly adding new games to their backend. We will keep it updated as new titles appear. But this is what we got so far:
- Tekken 2 (PS1)
- Ridge Racer 2 (PSP)
- Worms Armageddon (PS1)
- Worms World Party (PS1)
- Mr. Driller (PS1)
Now, I do know a lot about video games and their history, but even I have never heard of Mr. Driller. The other ones, though? Pure fire. Worms Armageddon is my personal highlight. An undeniable classic, man. So many hours of sweaty matches against my brothers… can’t wait to relive that memory.
And Tekken 2? Bro, don’t get me started. Another stone-cold classic. Those older fighting games still feel great and are just an absolute blast in any party. That’s going to be a lot of fun too.
Those games alone are definitely getting me excited. This selection of classics is shaping up to be genuinely exciting and cool, offering actual value to your PS Plus subscription. We’re excited to see the full selection of games and if Sony can stick the landing with this.
